Les Deux Alpes
More to be added soon
Info
The resort is set
at 1650 metres and offers fantastic scenery and a lively nightlife. It is
renowned for its excellent snow conditions, high pistes and long hours of sunshine. Les Deux Alpes is a superb resort with
excellent facilities for all levels of skier and boarder. There is extensive
skiing on the long runs from one of the largest glaciers in the Alps, which also
boasts great intermediate runs ideal for gaining confidence. The village is home
to a wide range of après-ski activities including parapenting, night skiing,
ice-skating, skidoos, indoor and outdoor swimming, bowling, squash, sauna, gym,
ice grotto and helicopter trips making it a popular holiday destination.
Les Deux Alpes is a big party town described
as like entering Las Vegas in the Alpes.
What it lacks in Alpine charm, it makes up
for with the biggest glacier in Europe, high and snow sure slopes, a great park,
some good off piste, and links to the world renowned 'resort' of La Grave.
Unless all you want is peace and quiet and
lots of tree skiing, you could certainly do a lot worse than end up here for a
season!
Bars & Clubs
Smokeys - Great English Bar with great food. 2 big screens for the Football and
stuff. Extremely attractive female bar staff. It has a pool table and fussball
table. They do a real English breakfast 9
- 12am. Lunch is 12am - 3pm and dinner 7pm-11pm. Open till 2am
The Board Room - May be quite small compared to the other bars but the
atmosphere is very good due to the majority of English drinkers and the English
staff. Two big screens that plays either sports or music. A very generous
selection of spirits and shots ( most of which we tasted at some point ). Mainly
know as a seasonairs bar. Massive outside terrace for the sunny days. They have
a deal with the fast food place down the road for food Open 10am(??) till
2am
Smithys - Yates style bar. Loads of space and a huge bar. Has a Pool
table and fussball table during the early evening. Live music on quite regularly
in the evenings opens at 5pm - 2am. It has a good value good food restaurant
upstairs.
The Secret Bar - Small but lively defiantly worth a look. Opens 3pm -
2am.
Les Luttins Bar - Very much a locals bar but very handy if you are
staying in the hotel above it.
The Polar Bear Pub - Did not try this one but apparently it is a good
place to go.

with big group. They do have a lot of drinks deals on.
The Red Frog - Opposite La Grotte Yeti in the old town. Nice bar, serves

La Avalanche (Club) - Apparently the most popular of the 3 clubs in
resort. Quite small inside, plays the standard euro cheese with a bit of good
